BEHIND THE FRAME

Greg “The Glassman” Holder was born May 24, 1965 in Los Angeles, California as the youngest of 7 children to Rose and Ted Holder.   After graduating from Carson High School and receiving his AA from El Camino Jr. College, Greg attended and played football at the University of Utah in 1985 and 1986.  Eventually signing a Free-Agents Contract with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1987 and 1988. In concluding these exciting and eventful years, Greg found himself in a transitional phase of life and through exploration and personal growth he found a home in the Art world.  Greg has devoted over two decades towards his goal to honor and memorialize his clients’ images and aspirations into the medium of translucent glass.  Greg’s signature style captures the essence and depth of his subjects utilizing sand blasting techniques to create one of a kind Art-pieces.  Each image is sketched and transferred to a hand cut stencil and transformed into the vision commissioned by each client.

Greg’s ultimate mission statement and goals include founding and operating an Art Studio and Gallery for the purpose of creating/preserving Art that will not only honor its subjects but will generate income for youth oriented programs/charities. Greg’s ambitions are to create a resource/facility that can enrich and encourage future Artists while educating for future generations.
